Did you know that if you took one golf swing per second, it would take nearly 32 years to total one billion swings?
Well, the Arccos shot-tracking platform has officially reached the milestone of one billion shots captured by its users worldwide.
While Arccos is the official game tracker of the PGA Tour, it’s fitting that the billionth shot in company history was recorded by an everyday golfer on the quest for improvement. Australia’s Jordan Cook made history with an 8-iron approach shot from 145 yards on the seventh hole at Beverly Park Golf Club during a Sunday afternoon round in suburban Sydney on July 21.
“One billion shots is a massive number, but it’s really just the beginning of the journey we are on to revolutionize the game by connecting every golfer and the entire golf industry to what’s happening on the course,” said Arccos CEO Sal Syed, who co-founded the company in 2014. “Arccos was born from the belief that on-course data is the game’s most valuable data.
“We’ve made huge strides toward capturing that data simply, accurately, and at scale, and are leveraging it to drive the performance of our members from top tour players to everyday amateurs, as well as our business partners across the OEM, club fitting, retail, green grass and instruction segments,” added Syed. “The opportunities before us are seemingly boundless and we have the team in place to achieve many, many great things.”
Arccos is a game-tracking and improvement tool used by elite players and amateurs worldwide, boasting over 20 million rounds in total, and the company has been recognized by the National Golf Foundation as one of the Top 100 businesses in the U.S. golf industry.
From 2021 to today, the number of Arccos members has increased by approximately 195%.
Utilizing a smart sensor in each club grip that’s paired with a mobile app, Arccos seamlessly tracks shots taken on course while helping users improve through features like an A.I. rangefinder, A.I. powered club recommendations, and personalized strokes gained analytics.
Cook, 31, began using Arccos just over a year ago and says he’s since lowered his handicap from 15 to 10 since April 2023.
“It’s pretty insane and a real privilege to be the guy who actually hit the 1 billionth shot with Arccos,” said Cook. “When I started using the system, I immediately realized value from the analysis of my strengths and weaknesses. It’s a great tool to help me see how I’m performing across each aspect of my game and get a real, unbiased sense of what I need to work on.”
Ambassadors for Arccos include professional golfers Matthew Fitzpatrick and Edoardo Molinari along with caddie Ted Scott, and golf influencers and content creators Grant Horvat and Erik Anders Lang. In addition to its relationship with the PGA Tour, Arccos also has partnerships with equipment companies – Cobra PUMA Golf, PING, Srixon-Cleveland Golf, and TaylorMade – as well as Club Champion, EA Sports, and Golf Digest.
