Meet the 2024 Fab 5 high school girls basketball team: Torie Neubauer, Kate McGinnis, Olivia Witkowski, Rainey Welson and Peyton Musial.
MEQUON – The Lightning (5-2) rattled off a 15-5 run to start the second half to pull away in its victory over the Lancers in the Rick Majerus WBY Shootout at Concordia University.
North led 39-31 at the half.
Grant Hardy led the Lightning with 22 points, with Nathan Ramus adding 19. Will Sweeney and Abraham Tomori also chipped in 11 points each.
“We just wanted a little bit more offensively with the pass instead of off the bounce,” Appleton North coach Chris Kellett said. “Our guys are pretty high-level IQ kids and we were getting some backdoors and some curl cuts for some layups. Grant Hardy was our quarterback in the second half facilitating.”
Junior guard Evan Prusko scored 28 points to lead Brookfield Central (4-4).

MEQUON – The Irish, ranked second in the state in Division 3 in the WisSports.net coaches poll, raised their overall record to 8-0 behind 33 points and 11 rebounds from standout sophomore Donovan Davis at the Rick Majerus WBY Shootout.
Davis, a 6-foot-7 forward who has offers from Iowa State and Wisconsin, scored in a variety of ways and totaled six dunks on the afternoon with two of the alley-oop variety.
Drew Kortz added 17 points for Freedom.
“Donovan is a really special player and does a lot of great things for us,” Freedom coach Andrew Gibbons said. “But we have a lot of guys that can put it up and put points on the board as well as set their teammates up.”
Matthew Goedheer had 11 points and Jackson Albee added 10 to lead Catholic Memorial (4-6).
