Jammu and Kashmir pulled off a historic win against Mumbai in the 6th round clash against Mumbai away from home in the course of January 23 to January 26.
Bowling first, they bundled Mumbai for just 120 runs and took a 86 run lead before Shardul Thakur’s century and Tanush Kotian’s fifty brought Mumbai back in the game to post a target of 207 runs which was chased by J&K with 5 wickets left.

However, the instrumental performances from Umar Nazir, Yudhvir Singh and Auqib Nabi with the ball in hand were plagued by a string of poor umpiring decisions against the winners for which the J&K Cricket Association has now lodged a formal complaint to the BCCI.

JKCA files a complaint against umpiring decisions vs Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy:
Following the 5-wicket win that took them to the top of the table in Elite Group A, JKCA administrator, Anil Gupta spoke to the TOI and told about the issue with the umpiring during Jammu and Kashmir’s game against Mumbai.

“Yes, we have lodged an official complaint with the BCCI about the standard of umpiring in the match. We have pointed out a couple of decisions which went against the J&K team. Since I was present at the ground and watching the match, I was dismayed by some of the umpiring decisions, which were quite appalling,” said the administrator.
The sixth-round Elite Group A clash had Navdeep Singh and Sundaram Ravi as the match officials on the field. S Ravi was also formerly on the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires. Nitin Goel was the match referee.
