This weekend, the Green Bay Packers are on their bye week, which means fans of the green and gold get a Sunday to simply watch football without much stress for three-plus hours in their day. That also means that teams around the NFC will move around the standings without the Packers getting to do anything about it, however, and the two teams ahead of Green Bay in the NFC North will look to continue to spread out their lead over the third-place Packers.
Both of those other two teams are on the road playing against AFC South teams today. The 6-2 Minnesota Vikings face the Jacksonville Jaguars, who will likely be without quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Later on, in prime time, the 7-1 Detroit Lions face the Houston Texans, who are leading the South at 6-3. Houston has lost to both the Vikings and the Packers already this season, and they are 3.5-point home underdogs to Detroit coming into the weekend.
APC’s contributors are unanimously projecting both the Vikings and Lions to win this weekend, with the general expectation being that both teams cover the spreads as well. But an upset in either game would be a welcome sight for Packers fans, as their team will need some significant help in the last nine weeks of the season if they want to find a way to finish atop the NFC North.
Here are our picks for this week’s games!
