Tennis star Nicolas Mahut has admitted that Andy Murray will have to be wary of potential ‘violent’ verbal outbursts from Novak Djokovic when they work together at the 2025 Australian Open.
Djokovic confirmed the Scot will be in his corner in the New Year as he looks to win a staggering 25th Grand Slam title.
The pair had an epic rivalry during Murray’s time in the sport, with the 37-year-old quitting tennis earlier in the year.
And their alliance has captivated the tennis world, with many figures feeling it could be just what Djokovic needs amid his bid to make history.

Mahut was asked by Eurosport if Djokovic may be as ‘violent’ towards Murray as he was with former coach Goran Ivanisevic.
And the tennis star has admitted the Serb has a tendency to ‘target’ those in his corner when things aren’t going his way.
“Both have had a tendency in their career to get carried away with their box, to sometimes have lapses or meltdowns,” said the Frenchman.
“Andy will understand very well what Novak will feel on the field, and he will also be able to help him I think.

Mahut does think, however, that the partnership can pay off as Djokovic looks to win his first major since the US Open back in 2023.
“When Andy approaches the match, he can, in certain tactical aspects, have the same way of operating and the same strategic approach as Novak,” he continued.
“It was no longer the same Andy who faced [Jannik] Sinner or [Carlos] Alcaraz, of course, but he necessarily took away certain things from them.”
Meanwhile, Greg Rusedski is another man intrigued by the appointment.
