GURUGRAM, India – 2024 LIV Golf Hong Kong winner Abraham Ancer and reigning Asian Tour Order of Merit champion John Catlin are among the latest stars to confirm their participation for International Series India presented by DLF, the US$2 million tournament set to take place at DLF Golf and Country Club later this month.
Ancer, who plays for Fireballs GC, and Catlin, a LIV Golf reserve player, will join defending U.S. Open champion and Crushers Captain Bryson DeChambeau and teammate Anirban Lahiri. The International Series Rankings winner Joaquin Niemann, captain for Torque GC, will also compete at the event set for Jan. 30-Feb. 2 February in Gurugram.
Ancer was a key member of Sergio Garcia’s Fireballs GC in 2024 and delivered an impressive season, finishing 12th in the LIV Golf League individual standings thanks to his victory in Hong Kong and three additional top-10 finishes.
Catlin enjoyed an outstanding 2024 campaign, claiming back-to-back Asian Tour victories at International Series Macau presented by Wynn in March, where he carded an historic 59 and edged out Fireballs GC’s David Puig in a thrilling playoff, and at the Saudi Open presented by PIF in April.
In addition to his wins, Catlin delivered strong performances in two playoff defeats on The International Series. He narrowly missed out at International Series Morocco to Ben Campbell, who recently joined LIV Golf with RangeGoats GC, and was edged out by compatriot M.J. Maguire at the Black Mountain Championship in Thailand.
Catlin also enjoyed a successful season as a reserve player on the LIV Golf League. A T7 was his season-high performance in six impressive appearances for three different teams, Crushers GC, Smash GC and Legion XIII.
International Series India presented by DLF marks the debut of the LIV Golf-backed series on the subcontinent. It is the first of 10 elevated events on this season’s Asian Tour, featuring stops in destinations such as Macau, Morocco, Indonesia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Saudi Arabia, with additional locations to be announced soon.
The series provides a global pathway for players to qualify for the LIV Golf League, with the season-ending rankings champion securing a guaranteed spot on the roster for the following season. Additionally, The International Series Rankings offer players a second opportunity to earn their place in the LIV Golf League through the innovative LIV Golf Promotions event.
