Amazon Prime will now carry Detroit Pistons, Red Wings, Tigers games for added fee

Detroit Pistons and Detroit Red Wings fans starting in December will be able to stream games from their teams through Amazon Prime, Diamond Sports Group announced this week.
In addition to offering to purchase the rights to single games through the FanDuel Sports Network app for $6.99, games on the FanDuel Sports Network, which airs the Pistons, Red Wings and Detroit Tigers, will also be available to purchase through Amazon Prime. Individual games will cost $6.99 compared to the $19.99 monthly cost that gives subscribers full access to games, except for nationally televised ones. Fans can also subscribe to FDSN through Amazon at an additional price.
“FanDuel Sports Network RSNs will be available via Prime Video as an add on subscription for customers living within each team’s designated geographic area,” Diamond Sports announced in a release. “More details to be announced at a later date.”
The Diamond Sports Group, which owns 16 regional sports networks, plans to offer single-game pricing for NBA and NHL games beginning Dec. 5 on its on its direct-to-consumer streaming package. Amazon invested in Diamond Sports Group, which has filed for bankruptcy, and reached an agreement to bring single-game options to the streaming platform. Fans will be able to purchase the rights to watch a single game if it is on a Diamond Sports-operated network on Amazon or the FanDuel Sports Network app for $6.99 with no subscription.
A court filing Wednesday confirmed the Tigers will be on FanDuel Sports Network through the 2025 season on an “amended telecast rights agreement” to keep Detroit baseball on the network.
According to USA TODAY, the agreement between Diamond and Amazon is not exclusive, meaning Diamond can find deals with other streaming platforms, which is part of the reason it is now sponsored by FanDuel instead of Bally’s.
