KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – As the holiday season nears and hundreds of thousands of packages are shipped across the country as gifts, one major company is looking for help to ease that process.
Amazon announced on Thursday morning that it is hiring for 3,000 jobs in the Kansas City area. It is part of an effort to fill 250,000 positions across the country.
The company stated that all seasonal employees will earn at least $18 per hour, and have access to benefits, such as healthcare coverage, on their first day of employment.
Seasonal employees who stay at Amazon can see an average pay increase of 15% over their first three years. A release from the company stated that about one-third of seasonal employees stay on year after year.
Amazon released that it provides access to earned pay at any time, health, vision and dental insurance from the first day on the job, a 401(k) with company match, up to 20 weeks of paid pregnancy/parental leave for birth parents and an Amazon Prime employee discount among other benefits.
