With two back-to-back wins in the ongoing Annual Cricket Bash-2024, being played at PCA’s Mullanpur Stadium, The Lawrence School, Sanawar, has kept its hopes alive of reaching the final.
The school has won two out of three matches so far. The third win in the league will ensure the final berth for LSS.
Earlier, in the day, Lawrence School, Sanawar beat Doon School, Dehradun, by one wicket. Doon opted to bat first and put 137 on the board with Apurv Maheshwari (27) as the top scorer. Apoorv Lakhia, Angadbir and Sangram Singh shared two wickets each.
In reply, LSS achieved the target at the loss of nine wickets with five balls to spare.
Unbeaten Sangram Singh scored 51 runs while Kunal Sharma added 27 runs.
Post lunch, LSS witnessed another win against Scindia School, Gwalior, scoring 16 runs (D/ L method). LSS won the toss and invited the opposition team to bat.
Scindia School scored 173/6 in the stipulated 20 overs, wherein Kartik Chauhan contributed 51 and Ayush Agarwal added 47 runs.
Shikhar Berry and Apurv Lakhia clinched two wickets each. In reply, Sangram Singh scored his second half century of the day to bring team closer to the target.
The match was halted in the 14th over at 140/4 due to poor light, which helped LSS win the game with the intervention of D/L method.
Kunal Sharma (36) aptly supported Sangram Singh till the end.
