Previously the lone member of the Alabama Crimson Tide’s 2025 recruiting class that had yet to sign with the program, highly-touted offensive tackle Ty Haywood has now officially decommitted according to reports, re-opening his recruitment.
Haywood had previously been committed to the Crimson Tide since July of 2024, but did not sign with Alabama back in December during the Early Signing Period.
According to the 247Sports Composite recruiting rankings, Haywood is at the moment considered as the nation’s No. 20 overall player out of Denton High School in Texas. A five-star prospect, Haywood is also considered as the nation’s No. 4 overall offensive tackle, as well as the No. 6 player in the state of Texas.
With the decommitment of Haywood, Alabama’s 2025 football recruiting class now stands at No. 3 nationally with 21 total commitments, each of which have signed. Alabama also now has three five-star prospects in the class, which are quarterback Keelon Russell, interior offensive lineman Michael Carroll, and cornerback Dijon Lee.
Haywood is now the highest-ranked player in the 2025 class remaining that has yet to sign with a collegiate program, as the five-star is still uncommitted at the time of writing.
