Alabama football’s next SEC assignment takes the Crimson Tide to Nashville, Tennessee.
No. 2 Alabama will face Vanderbilt for the third time in 10 years at 3:15 p.m. Saturday in FirstBank Stadium on the SEC Network. The Crimson Tide has not played a road game against the Commodores since Sept. 23, 2017 when Alabama beat Vanderbilt 59-0.

Alabama has dominated Vanderbilt historically.
The Crimson Tide’s 60 wins against the Commodores are the second-most against any SEC program Alabama has faced. Alabama has 86 wins against Mississippi State.
Other than three vacated or forfeited wins by Alabama in 1993, 2006 and 2007, Vanderbilt has 17 wins against the Crimson Tide since their first meeting in 1903. The Commodores beat Alabama five straight times from 1903-19 before the Crimson Tide’s first win in 1920.
Vanderbilt most recent outright win against Alabama came as one of the Crimson Tide’s six losses in the 1984 season.
The Commodores ended a 26-game winning streak for Alabama during its homecoming game, beating the Crimson Tide 30-21. Alabama held a 10-9 halftime lead, but Vanderbilt used 200 yards of offense in the second half, and scores from quarterback Kurt Page and running back Carl Woods to secure the win in Tuscaloosa.
Alabama’s most recent loss to Vanderbilt in Nashville came in the 1969 season, when the Crimson Tide finished 6-5 overall.
The Commodores were the Crimson Tide’s first loss of the season after wins against Virginia Tech, Southern Miss and Ole Miss. Vanderbilt secured the 14-10 win vs. Alabama with a fourth-quarter touchdown from Watson Brown to Jim Cunningham.
