Alabama football picked up its second commitment in the recruiting class of 2026 on Thursday. Offensive lineman Chris Booker announced he’ll be joining the Crimson Tide after his senior high school season.
Booker shared the news on social media.
“1000% committed,” he wrote. “Recruitment shut down!”
Booker plays his high school football at Hapeville Charter in Georgia. He received an Alabama offer at the Crimson Tide’s junior day earlier in February.
He had offers from South Florida, Mississippi State and Kentucky, among others. The 6-foot-4, 285-pound Booker does not have a star ranking from 247Sports, but is a four-star according to On3 and a three-star on Rivals.
Booker can play both guard and center.
Still early on in the cycle, Booker’s addition to Alabama’s class gave the Crimson Tide the No. 55 overall group for 2026 according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He became the first out-of-state player to commit in Kalen DeBoer’s second full recruiting cycle as UA’s head coach.
Booker joined Zyan Gibson in the class. Gibson is a four-star defensive back from Gadsden City.
Alabama has seen several players commit and then decommit from the 2026 class. Those included Parker defensive lineman Vodney Cleveland, who recently revealed a top six that did not include the Tide.
