Kalen DeBoer provided an Alabama football injury update on Malachi Moore, Qua Russaw, Cole Adams and Richard Young on Monday after the Wisconsin game.
Moore, Russaw and Young each left the win over Wisconsin with injuries. Adams sustained an injury in the South Florida game and did not play vs. Wisconsin.
Alabama has an open week before facing Georgia a week from Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Here’s what DeBoer said about each player Monday.
On Adams (arm): “This is a good time for the bye week. I would expect that here as we get to the latter part of the week, he’s continuing to move forward. Can kind of see where you don’t want to push him too hard here at the end of the week with physicality here and things like that, make him vulnerable. But I think it’s positive steps that we’re seeing.”
On Russaw (leg): “With the evaluation of him, I think the bye week is huge. I think he probably later in the week will be able to do some things for us. We’ll certainly be careful with him so we don’t have any setbacks. Feel like it’s a positive progression already for him the last couple days.”
On Moore (head): “A hit to the head, a blow to the head. Popped up and ran off the field, but I also know there’s a protocol we’ve got to go through. A lot of positive signs there with him already here through these first couple days. Again, just have got to go through the progression that needs to be done when it comes to those type of injuries.”
On Young (leg): “I’m not sure on Richard a little bit. I think have to continue to evaluate here.”
