A season after hosting the basketball edition of ESPN’s College Gameday for the first time ever, Alabama will receive another visit from the show. The program will visit Tuscaloosa for next Saturday’s Iron Bowl of Basketball between the No. 3 Crimson Tide and No. 1 Auburn.

The show will start at 9 a.m. CT at Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa. Unlike the football version of the show, which can vary what it looks for in a host site, the basketball edition generally goes to what is perceived as the best game of the day.

The Alabama-Auburn game certainly looks to fit the bill. Alabama, a year after an unexpected Final Four bid, looks formidable with a 19-3 record overall, 10-1 in SEC play.

Meanwhile, Auburn has become the Death Star of the league and nation. Led by player of the year contender Johni Broome, the Tigers are 21-1 overall, 9-0 in league play.

Alabama hosted College Gameday last season, when No. 4 Tennessee came to town in March. The Crimson Tide lost that game 81-74.

The game could be the first time Alabama and Auburn have met while both ranked in the top 10. However, both teams must play two games leading into the IBOB.

Alabama faces Arkansas in Fayetteville Saturday, while Auburn faces Florida at Neville Arena. On the midweek slate, Alabama travels to Texas Tuesday, while Auburn faces Vanderbilt in Nashville.

According to a news release from Alabama athletics, doors at Coleman Coliseum will open at 7:30 a.m. CT for students, and 8 a.m. for the general public.

Those with Coleman parking passes will be able to use them for the Gameday show. Alabama will also open the Soccer Lot, with shuttles running to the arena.

The show will be two hours long. After the program is over, the Alabama-Auburn game is scheduled to tip off at 3 p.m. CT.
