Alabama and Auburn football look to turn the page on underwhelming 2024 seasons. The Crimson Tide failed to reach 10 wins in head coach Kalen DeBoer’s first season, while the Tigers finished with a sub-.500 record for a second consecutive year under head coach Hugh Freeze.

Luckily, the offseason brings a clean slate and we’ll soon know more about each team as reports roll in from spring practices. Alabama’s spring practice began on Monday, while Auburn won’t take the practice field until March 25.

There’s still a lot to learn about the Crimson Tide and Tigers as the offseason moves along, but you can already bet on each team’s win totals for 2025.

Alabama football win total odds

At FanDuel Sportsbook, no SEC team has a win total higher than 9.5. Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Texas are the only programs to meet that mark. LSU and Ole Miss narrowly missed the cut at 8.5.

Looking ahead to the upcoming season, there’s optimism that DeBoer can use his first full offseason as Alabama’s head coach to get the team back to double-digit victories. The toughest SEC matchups are on the road against Georgia and South Carolina and at home against Tennessee and LSU.

Stars like Jalen Milroe, Tyler Booker, Malachi Moore, and Jihaad Campbell are heading to the NFL Draft, while key players like Ryan Williams, Germie Bernard, Deontae Lawson and Domani Jackson are returning. DeBoer also used the portal to backfill with multiple four-star transfers.

The most notable changes are coming on offense, as much of the focus will be on the QB battle between Ty Simpson, Austin Mack and Keelon Russell. Simpson has been with the team since 2022 and seems to have the upper hand.

New offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb is a fresh face. Grubb had the same role with the Seattle Seahawks last year and was on the staff when DeBoer led Washington to the 2024 national championship.

Auburn football win total odds

The odds vary, but Auburn’s win total at FanDuel is identical to Texas A&M, South Carolina and Missouri. If the Tigers can hit on the over, it would be a sign of improvement. Auburn has finished below .500 in the past four seasons and last won eight games or more in 2019.

The Tigers don’t have a cupcake lined up for Week 1 and instead hit the road to face Baylor. The early odds at DraftKings have Auburn as a 1.5-point favorite. The marquee SEC matchups come at Texas A&M and on home turf versus Missouri, Georgia and Alabama.

Freeze’s seat is heating up after leading the team to an 11-14 record since 2023. Losing Jarquez Hunter and KeAndre Lambert-Smith to the NFL is a big hit, but the Tigers did retain top receivers Cam Coleman and Malcolm Simmons.

Freeze was busy in the transfer portal this offseason and landed the eighth-best portal class, per 247Sports. The headliner is former five-star QB Jackson Arnold, who didn’t live up to the hype last year in his first season as Oklahoma’s starter. He’ll be throwing to much better receivers at Auburn, including fellow transfers Eric Singleton Jr. and Horatio Fields.

Quarterbacking has been a weakness for Auburn since Freeze took over. If Arnold benefits from a change of scenery and reaches his full potential with the Tigers, it could be a resurgent year for Auburn.
