MILWAUKEE – Air Wisconsin may begin laying off 513 employees across Milwaukee and Appleton.
What we know:
In a notice filed with the Workforce Development Department, Air Wisconsin’s purchase agreement with American Airlines is set to end on April 3. The agreement ending could lead to 513 employees laid off – 219 in management positions and 294 in union positions across Wisconsin.

What’s next:
According to the filing, Air Wisconsin is set to “develop alternative flying opportunities” which will be announced in the coming weeks.
Employees who are affected by this reduction, have been notified and provided with the required information. In the filing Air Wisconsin states that they will ensure any affected employees by this reduction will be paid all earned wages and agreed upon benefits at the time of separation.
When This Will Take Effect:
The notice states that reductions may begin as soon as March 31, or during the 14-day period after.
