MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) – It is officially open for business, as Academy Sports + Outdoors has cut the ribbon to its doors on Friday.
Although they opened the doors on Monday, academy sports made sure to make a grand opening for the community.
Over a hundred people stood in line as Academy was giving away gift cards to the first 150 people.
Academy Sports operations manager says that they are more than excited about how the grand opening went and what people should look out for this weekend.
“Today is an awesome day. We were elated to have Academy Sports and outdoors open. Our 9th store in the state of Mississippi. And today, as you can see behind me we have the first 150 customers get a mystery gift card ranged from $20 to $500. That’s today, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 18 years or older,” said Reginald Harbour.
He also said had this to say about the community, “The community is elated, you know, like I said, you know, unbeatable prices or whatever, you know, fun. We sell fun here at Academy Sports and Outdoors. We’re expecting great things. Building partnership with the community. Just just helping the kids overall community support.”
