Next week is the annual ACC Tip-off event in Charlotte, as representatives from each team will get together to speak to the media before the start of the 2024-2025 season.
The UNC women’s basketball program’s media session will occur on Wednesday, October 9, as Courtney Banghart has elected to bring three key returning veterans with her for the festivities.
Lexi Donarski, Maria Gakdeng and Alyssa Ustby will represent the UNC women’s basketball program at this year’s event. It will be the first appearances for Donarski and Gakdeng while Ustby is the veteran of the group in this regard given she attended last year alongside former Tar Heel Deja Kelly.
All three players are expected to be significant contributors for North Carolina. The roster looks slightly different, but the goal of making a deep run in the NCAA Tournament remains the same. After struggling to stay healthy last season (especially at the guard position), the hope is that this team has better health as it has the pieces to be a very good team this upcoming season.
We’ll get the opportunity to hear what Banghart and the Tar Heels student-athletes have to say regarding the upcoming season next week as we all anxiously await the start of the 2024-2025 college basketball season.
