KAPOLEI, Hawaii (10/31/24) – Wrapping up its fall slate, the Arkansas State men’s golf team finished sixth among 15 teams at the Kapolei Invitational hosted by the University of Hawaii at Kapolei Golf Club.
A-State completes the fall slate with a 45-14 head-to-head record. The Red Wolves turned in a final round 9-over par 297 to finish up at 16-over par 880, three strokes back of Texas State and Utah Valley for fourth. Miami (Ohio) carded a 5-under par 283 in the final round to win the event at 7-under par 857. San Diego finished second at 6-over par while host Hawaii was third at 9-over par.
Milan Reed wrapped up his second consecutive top 10 finish to pace A-State. Reed was 1-over par 73 in the final round to total 1-over par 217 and tie for ninth. Chris Somerfield was also 1-over in the final round to total 3-over par 219 and a tie for 15th. Thomas Schmidt (+5) tied for 30th, Jake Wallis (+7) and Jack Maxey (+7) tied for 40th, and Jake Lile (+8) tied for 46th.
The Red Wolves begin the spring portion of their schedule Feb. 24-26 at the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate at Reflection Bay in Henderson, Nevada.
