Killingly author Sarah Crowne takes readers into a world of serial killers, a missing father, time travel and the 1980s in her debut novel for teens and young adults.
And so far, her book has found success.
Her first published novel “All These Threads of Time” debuted on Amazon’s list of top 100 teen and young adult time travel fiction books and in the top 10 for young adult time travel new releases. The book was published by Crowne’s publishing company WHAT’S GOIN’ ON?! SLN Publishing, LLC and released on July 15, 2024.
Set in the late 1980s, “All These Threads of Time” tells the story of teenager Sylvie Mitchell, whose sister is murdered by a serial killer, and father goes missing. Mitchell discovers she can time travel and sets out on a quest to save her sister’s life, find her father and stop her sister’s murderer from terrorizing her hometown. She must be careful on her journey, as her actions might have negative effects on the future.
The book is available on Amazon as well as at local bookstores such as Pourings and Passages (103 Main Street, Danielson) and The Golden Owl (9 Golden Street, New London).
Sarah Normandie, who goes by the pen name Sarah Crowne, is not just an author. She is also a poet, lawyer, realtor and mother.
Crowne chose Sarah Crowne as her pen name to separate her author and attorney branding.
“I decided since I was also starting my own publishing company, I would crown myself with the name Sarah Crowne,” she said.
Crowne has had a passion for storytelling since before she could read or write. As a little girl, she recalls recording stories on her mother’s tape recorder.
Her love of writing led her to enroll in the UCLA Writer’s Program and a personal mentorship under Hollywood story structure guru John Truby. In addition to books, Crowne writes short stories, poems and a Substack newsletter.
Crowne’s second novel “Tune In” is scheduled for release sometime next year. Like “All These Threads of Time”, it is a thriller, however it is set in the present.
“The most I can say is it involves a pop star and a mind-controlled serial killer,” Crowne said regarding “Tune In”.
Crowne’s goal as a writer moving forward is simple; to write good stories.
“My goal for my career as an author is to have good storytelling, to write good stories that empower people, that cause them to think,” Crowne said. “I love writing mysteries especially because it encourages people to solve the mystery.”
