The individual scratch competition, which will be 36 holes and has a prize fund of £1,000, will take place on the historic course on April 12.
“It’s amateur players, but it’s elite amateur players. People will travel from all over the UK, we are only taking the best,” said Dave Hanratty, the club’s director.
“The winner will win our solid silver Sandiway Oak Trophy and a maximum of £750.
“We are really looking forward to hosting the event and we will have 70 or 80 volunteers on the day to help run it.
“It’s a really big step in the club’s future.”
The event is capped at 60 participants, with 18 holes in the morning and 18 holes in the afternoon.
The tournament is expected to be packed out with more than 1,000 people in a mixed crowd of families and golf lovers.
The event is free to enter, and the entries close on March 31.
