This isn’t happening, but one can dream, can’t she? The common denominator of Pittsburgh’s last nine seasons of one-and-done in the postseason after collapsing during the regular season is Mike Tomlin. Steelers Nation (and the press) are sick and tired of Tomlin’s meaningless word salad and recycles phrases as he attempts to explain away why they’re so bad. Year after year after year.
In the last 13 seasons, the Steelers are 3-8 in the playoffs under Tomlin. His team has suffered five straight postseason losses (most in the first round) and has seven seasons without a conference championship appearance.
Tomlin has resisted addressing systemic issues and adapting to modern NFL demands. You can change the quarterback, you can change the offensive line, you can change assistant coaches. But until Tomlin is gone, none of that will matter.
