1. Spring sports are approaching. What is your favorite part about springtime sports in Montana?
John Letasky: Baseball and softball, and just being outside. But track and field, and tennis are fun, too. And, the Billings Outlaws begin play.
Chris Peterson: It’s fun covering sports outside, wearing shorts (sometimes) and working in the daylight.
Daniel Shepard: 30 mph winds in East Helena. For me, it’s the start of Legion Baseball season. Gotta love hardball.
Jake Iverson: It means we’re that much closer to the start of the Pioneer League.
Briar Napier: Finally get to do my newfound love from last year again — cycling. You bet I’m looking at the high-50s day in Billings on Sunday and daydreaming about a long ride.

2. What do you think about the Big Sky State Games planned torch relay to celebrate its 40th anniversary?
John Letasky: I think it’s a great idea and a neat way to get the community involved.
Chris Peterson: Sounds like a cool way to get people involved.
Daniel Shepard: Could we get a 406 Sports relay team going? I think Chris Peterson would run a good anchor leg. Food for thought …
Jake Iverson: I love the ambition but Montana has so many small towns that are regional sports hubs, would’ve liked to have seen a few more on there.
Briar Napier: Running with a torch seems much, much harder to do on the Divide in Butte than on the prairies in Sidney.
3. Do you like the Midland Roundtable having the Montana All-Star Volleyball Classic on a Friday this summer to put the spotlight on volleyball?
John Letasky: The past couple of years I had covered the Shrine Game and Class B all-star football contest on the same day, so I haven’t experienced the volleyball contest. However, I think this is a great idea.
Chris Peterson: Anything the state can do to celebrate volleyball more is a good thing. Long overdue.
Daniel Shepard: How was this not already a thing? Let’s give Montana’s best spikers a primetime night to shine.
Jake Iverson: Absolutely. Very fun sport to watch live.
Briar Napier: Yes, because the best of the best in Montana volleyball deserve their own spotlight instead of being shoehorned in with the hoops games.
4. Are you gearing up for March Madness?
John Letasky: Yes … as it’s basketball tourney time in Montana. I’m looking forward to State A at the Metra.
Chris Peterson: Can’t wait for high school state tournaments or March Madness, since my Wolverines will be back in the mix.
Daniel Shepard: If by March Madness you mean the first one-third of NASCAR season, then yes! Oh, you mean basketball? Not so much.
Jake Iverson: I kind of like the fun of going in blind and not really knowing who to watch. Or at least that’s my excuse for not keeping tabs on regular season college ball even a little bit.
Briar Napier: With my beloved Mizzou Tigers being a legit Final Four contender and Kansas being unranked? I couldn’t dream of being more amped up.
5. What is your favorite movie theater snack?
John Letasky: The traditional buttered popcorn and a soda works for me.
Chris Peterson: Cookie dough bites. Although, as a wise man once said, “One box will make you sick, two will kill you.” Still worth it. Pop and popcorn is solid, too.
Daniel Shepard: Gimme a large Mr. Pibb and one of those reclining movie theater chairs. I’ll either be taking a nap or enjoying a movie for the next three hours. Unless Days of Thunder is playing, then I’m all in.
Jake Iverson: Does beer count? Sometimes, I’ll go see a movie at Art House over one of the multiplexes just so I can get a Miller Lite.
Briar Napier: Dump a box of Cookie Dough Bites into your bag of popcorn and thank me later.
