Norfolk County Sheriff Patrick McDermott, alongside the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office, announced the schedule for their 2nd annual “Sheriff’s Cup” youth hockey tournament.

The puck drop will begin at 7:45 a.m. on Friday with a ceremony by the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard, with the game (Quincy vs. Framingham) starting at 8 a.m.

Seven 12U teams will participate in the tournament in partnership with Quincy Youth Hockey, including those from Quincy (2 teams), Norwood, Milton, Framingham, and Marshfield (2 teams). All games will be played at the Quincy Youth Arena, 60 Murphy Memorial Drive, Quincy.

“This is a fantastic way for the sheriff’s office to engage way with the youth of Norfolk County and surrounding communities,” said Sheriff McDermott. “We are excited to lace up the skates for several days of exciting character-building competition.”

• 3:00 p.m. Marshfield 1 vs. Marshfield 2

• 1:00 p.m. Marshfield 2 vs. Norwood

Semifinals games will be held on Tuesday, December 31 with results on the pending games.

The tournament will have several giveaways, with all proceeds made from the tournament going towards NSO Cares, a non-profit supporting community-based programs and the H.O.P.E. Center.
