WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) – Board of Water Supply crews are responding to a 24-inch water main break in the Waikiki area Friday morning.
The break was first reported at 7 a.m. at 465 Kapahulu Avenue.
Two mauka and one makai-bound lane of Kapahulu Avenue is closed between Leahi Ave & Kanaina Avenue as crews repair the break. Only one makai-bound lane is open.
Water service is impacted for two apartment buildings, 15 businesses and the Ala Wai Golf Course.
Officials said once a troubleshooter adjusts water service valves in the area, water service should be restored, but it’s unclear how long that will take.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
