Perhaps the rowdiest day of the PGA Tour season has arrived. Moving Day at the 2025 WM Phoenix Open will feature raucous crowds and some of the world’s best jostling for positioning at TPC Scottsdale.
Belgian Thomas Detry possesses the third 36-hole lead of his career at 12 under to sit two strokes clear of Alex Smalley and Michael Kim. Behind the three players in the final group are a number of notable names, including a resurgent Jordan Spieth.
The three-time major champion has been sensational through two rounds leading the field in strokes gained approach and carding just one bogey. He begins his quest for his 14th career title at 9 under and in the penultimate group alongside Tom Kim at the same number.
Spieth’s good friend, Justin Thomas, looks to factor at TPC Scottsdale once again and starts the round at 8 under. Meanwhile, the world No. 1 is at again and back in contention at the site of his first career PGA Tour victory.
After getting off to a slow start, Scheffler surged on Friday with a 5-under 66 to get within five strokes of Detry. A winner twice at TPC Scottsdale, the three-time reigning PGA Tour Player of the Year aims to keep pace on Saturday in order to reenter the winner’s circle come Sunday.
