Today is big day of thoroughbred racing at Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino, highlighted by the 20th edition of the Sunland Derby, which has 20 qualifying points for the Kentucky Derby.
The first race will begin at 12:25 p.m. and the Sunland Derby will run at 4:17 p.m.

Runnin N Gunnin won the mile Sunland Oaks for trainer Steve Asmussen and with jockey Alfredo Juarez, Jr. aboard. The winning time was 1:40.9.
Runnin N Gunnin paid $13.80 to win. Enchanting was second and Stubby was third. Asmussen also trains Enchanting and Sunland Park based trainer Dick Cappellucci trains Stubby.
Mojica won the Red Hedeman Mile for his second win in three starts in 1:39.65. The winning jockey was Jose Miguel Vasquez and the winning trainer was Luis Rojero.
The New Mexico-bred Corrina Corrina pulled away in the final 200 yards to win the one mile Harry Henson Handicap for trainer Gary Cross and jockey Tracy Hebert. The race was for fillies and mares.
Corrina Corrina has now won 19 times from 36 starts, including eight wins at Sunland Park.

The morning-line odds for the one mile Sunland Oaks: Maysam, 9-5; Runnin N Gunnin. 3-1; Pink Pacific, 9-2; Enchanting,9-2; Stubby, 10-1; Street Colors, 15-1
The Sunland Oaks is race No. 7.
Holy Hank will be tough to beat today in the New Mexico-bred stakes race. Already has multiple wins in career and Tracy Hebert rides. The Red Hedeman Mile is race 6 today.
Temperature is in the mid-60s with little or wind for Sunland Derby day.
The great New Mexico-bred Corrina Corrina runs in the one mile, Harry Henson Handicap. for fillies and mares. She’s the 9-5 favorite and has won 18 of 35 races.
Also watch out for Don’t Bring Crazy in the same race for trainer Doug O’Neill.
