On Tuesday evening, the ACC released its full 2025 football schedule — so now we finally have the full slate of games for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Spoiler alert… Stanford is the 12th game and will be part of the ACC deal this season.
From the ACC press release:
Games Against Notre Dame
In 2025, ACC teams will play a total of six non-conference games against Notre Dame. The schedule begins with Miami hosting the Fighting Irish at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, in Week 1, and concludes with Stanford welcoming Notre Dame at Stanford Stadium in Stanford, California, in Week 14.
August 31- Notre Dame at Miami
October 11 – NC State at Notre Dame
November 1 – Notre Dame at Boston College
November 15 – Notre Dame at Pitt
November 22 – Syracuse at Notre Dame
November 29 – Notre Dame at Stanford
Usually, this is when we inform everyone that just about every ACC team that Notre Dame plays will have a bye before the tilt versus the Irish — but not this time around. Of the six ACC teams on Notre Dame’s schedule, only the former Big East bros, Pitt Panthers and Syracuse Orange, have a bye before Notre Dame. The Miami Hurricanes begin their season with the Irish — so that doesn’t count as a bye.
To be perfectly honest… I’m extremely disappointed in Notre Dame for keeping Stanford on the schedule — especially if they plan to keep doing this annually. They’re just giving the ACC another game without having more 4 ACC team years, and for what?
The Irish will be one of the few teams across college football with 10 games against Power Four opponents. Notre Dame will have 6 ACC games, 2 SEC games, 2 Big 10 games, and 2 games against Group of 5 opponents. The Group of 5 opponents — Navy and the Boise State Broncos.
As of right now, there is NO Shamrock Series game scheduled — although that could still change as it has in the past.
It’s going to be a fun run with a fair amount of villains (Dave Doehren, Pat Narduzzi, Lincoln Riley, Hard Rock Stadium) and villains-in-the-making from start to finish.
