Field Yates put out a 2025 NFL mock draft this morning, and he has the Tennessee Titans taking Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado with the fourth pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Now, keep in mind that Yates used ESPN’s FPI to determine the draft order. It is no surprise that their metric doesn’t like the Titans this year.
It is also important to keep in mind that if the Titans do end up picking fourth in the 2025 draft they will certainly be in the mix for a quarterback. That will mean that Will Levis had a really bad year. While we are all excited about Levis’s potential, we need to remember that he is still very much unproven to this point.
With all of that being said, Sanders is going to be an interesting project. In case you didn’t know, he is the son of NFL HOFer Deion Sanders, his coach at Colorado.
Shedeur got off to a really hot start last year for Colorado. He threw for 510 yards and 4 touchdowns in the opener against TCU. There was Heisman hype for him after that game. He stayed pretty hot through the middle of October but cooled off to end the season. He didn’t eclipse 265 passing yards in the final four games of the season, but he did only throw three interceptions on the entire year.
All of that is to say that the jury is still very much out on Sanders. His range of outcomes is anywhere from being the first overall pick to a day three pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Here is what Yates had to say about the Sanders pick:
If Tennessee is picking this high, it would — like with the Panthers — at least invite questions about whether to address quarterback again. I would argue yes for the Titans, though, as Will Levisbeing a second-round pick last year makes the financial side of this situation far less complicated than Carolina’s predicament, allowing them to move on from him. Sanders could wind up in the conversation for the first overall pick of the draft, as he’s an absolutely surgical pocket passer. He completed 69.3% of his throws last season and threw just three interceptions. He has great arm strength and pristine accuracy.
