TEAM
After winning four tournaments in 2023, Torque did not celebrate a team trophy this season. Yet they improved on their consistency in 2024, finishing top 5 or better in 11 of the 13 regular-season events, a feat that no other team could match. While that’s a good sign moving forward, the lack of team titles was ultimately frustrating.
PLAYERS (final points ranking)
Joaquin Niemann (2): Opened the season by shooting 59. Won two of the first three tournaments. Led in points most of the season before Jon Rahm’s late charge. It was a brilliant performance in 2024 by LIV Golf’s youngest team captain.
Carlos Ortiz (13): Signed with Torque in the offseason after spending the first two years with the Fireballs, he broke through with his first LIV Golf individual win in Houston. Remains one of LIV’s most consistent performers, finishing top-15 in points for the third consecutive season.
Sebastián Muñoz (23): Took a step back in the season-long standings even while confirming his dependability. Like his team, he finished with top-24 points in 11 regular-season starts but never reached the podium. Was the best individual performer on any team in the final round of the Team Championship, shooting 64.
Mito Pereira (47): A drop-off from the previous year in which he finished 8th overall. His inaccuracy off the tee kept leaving him in compromising situations, and those errant drives seemed to catch up with him. Had only one points finish, but it was good enough to avoid relegation.
