2024 NJ high school football playoff brackets for public schools

The 2024 high school football playoff brackets are set for public schools.

The brackets are based on the final United Power Rankings, which were released Saturday night on GridironNJ.com. Below are the seeds and first-round matchups for each section. The brackets will become official on Sunday.

The public-school playoffs begin Friday, Nov. 1. Non-public teams play an extra week of the regular season, with playoffs beginning on Friday, Nov. 8. The non-public brackets will be seeded by a committee on Nov. 3 after all regular-season games are completed.

Nov. 8-9: Public second round, non-public first round

Nov. 15-16: Public sectional finals, non-public quarterfinals

Nov. 22-23: Public state semifinals, non-public semifinals

Nov. 29, Dec. 1, Dec. 4: Public and non-public state finals

The better seed hosts every game except for the state finals. The state finals on Nov. 29 will be held at MetLife Stadium, and the state finals on Dec. 1 and Dec. 4 will be held at Rutgers’ SHI Stadium.
