The Seattle Seahawks (1-0) took care of business at home against the Denver Broncos, now they hit the road for the first time under Mike Macdonald to take on Jerod Mayo’s New England Patriots (1-0).
If the Seahawks win was expected, the Patriots definitely weren’t favored to knock off the Cincinnati Bengals on the road. Their consistently strong defense held Joe Burrow and company to 10 points, while running back Rhamondre Stevenson rushed for over 100 yards and a touchdown for the upset win. This will not be an easy game for the Seahawks (at least not on paper), and a low-scoring affair seems more likely than not.
One of the storylines entering this game is the battle of rookie head coaches. Macdonald is replacing Pete Carroll, while Mayo went from being coached by Bill Belichick to succeeding him as head coach. It’s a new generation of coaches looking to uphold the high standards of both franchises, and so far they’re off to good starts.
FanDuel has the Seahawks as a 3.5-point favorite, with the over/under currently at 38.5 points.
