We may be two games into the 2024 NFL season, but the year doesn’t really begin until Sunday’s slate is upon us. But before we get there, we’ve got one more piece of business to attend to.

Many Detroit Lions fans believe Super Bowl 59 could be the first featuring their team. Detroit was just a half away last year, and it’s easy to see how their team could be even better in 2024. But it won’t be easy. The Lions have a target on their back, and the conference and division should be more competitive this year.

So will the Lions make the Super Bowl? Will they win it?

Our Detroit Lions will defeat the Baltimore Ravens to make their first Super Bowl appearance and obviously their first Super Bowl win. Tears will be shed. Dreams will come true. Lives will be changed. And the Lions organization will happy too! We have it all in place, a talented team that’s young. We should see improvements from most of our core and little to no drop off age wise. We made key offseason additions. We have one of if not the best coaching staff/front office combos in the league. Now we’ve gained experience and will be determined not to let any moments slip away this year. Buckle up, our lives will be changed forever.

Ryan Mathews: Ravens over Lions

The Detroit Lions come up just short of the ultimate victory, losing to the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl LIX.

Jeremy Reisman: Chiefs over Lions

Sorry. We get the first three-peat in the Super Bowl era, because Andy Reid is a phenomenal coach, and they’ve got a cheat code at quarterback. Yes, Jared Goff has never lost to Patrick Mahomes, but he’s never faced him in the playoffs, and Mahomes in the postseason is a completely different beast.

Al Karsten: Lions over Chiefs

The Lions will beat the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX 31-27 to take home their first Lombardi Trophy and the ensuing Super Bowl Parade will last multiple days.

Brandon Knapp: Lions over Bengals

It’s a cat-themed Super Bowl as the Lions take on the Cincinnati Bengals in a close Super Bowl. The Chiefs get upset by the Bengals, while the Lions get revenge on the 49ers in the NFC title game. Goff and the offense lead the charge against the Bengals defense and the lack of a helpful running game finally gets the best of Cincinnati and the Lions defensive line has a big game.

It’s the matchup some of us were hoping for last year. Two franchises that have never made it to the Super Bowl. One walks away with the trophy. Your Detroit Lions.

The Detroit Lions are your 2024-2025 Super Bowl CHAMPIONS! See answer to previous question. I’m still shaking after writing that one.

John Whiticar: 49ers over Texans

The 49ers are the most complete team in the NFL. Even if you have doubts about Brock Purdy, he is an elite quarterback in that offense. The Texans could boast the best offense in the NFL with a potential superstar in C.J. Stroud, but I’m skeptical of their run game, which can be pivotal in a playoff run. Their offensive line is below average as well. Stroud will carry them, but only so far.

Erik Schlitt: Lions over Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are a juggernaut amid a dynasty run at multiple Super Bowls. After winning back-to-back Championships in 2022-23 and 2023-24, the Chiefs have their eyes set on a three-peat and haven’t been shy about letting people know of their plans to write history.

Waiting to play spoiler will be the Detroit Lions. What the Lions have done over the last four offseasons will be copied by other organizations looking to rebuild from the ashes. From dramatic culture shifts to building through the draft, Detroit has a formula that is infectious and players want to win for each other, as much as themselves.

As much as the Chiefs want to celebrate a third championship in a row, they won’t be able to keep a hungry Lions team from winning it all once they reach the big dance. So, load up on tissues, find your local tattoo artist for a lasting memory, and let’s see if the Lions can bankrupt Gardner White. Lions win Super Bowl 59.

The San Francisco 49ers and Houston Texans will be the two teams in the 2024 Super Bowl. I think that C.J. Stroud and the Texans will be the top AFC team this season and will put up a fight, but ultimately the 49ers will finally get their rings.

Hamza Baccouche: Ravens over 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers make it to the Super Bowl again, where they face a Baltimore Ravens team that finally squashes their AFC Championship demons. I’ll take the Ravens over just about any NFC team, and this is no exception. Give me the Ravens in a game that gets out of hand in the third quarter and sees Lamar Jackson finally get his first Super Bowl ring.
