As we approach the close of 2024, more than half of workers are already eyeing new opportunities and looking for jobs for the new year, a fresh Resume Templates survey of 1,258 professionals reveals.
Perhaps most shockingly, one in three workers say they will quit their current jobs, even if they don’t have any job offers lined up, signaling workers’ frustration with their current jobs, employers, and work environment. Of course, this has been fueled by the issue of remote jobs, which has become a heated debate between employers and employees.
Several factors contribute heavily to their decision to leave their current roles. Low pay, the feeling of being undervalued in their roles, lack of work-life balance flexibility (which, of course, includes remote work and being paid for results rather than by the hours worked) leading to burnout, limited growth opportunities, and poor management, accounted for their top priorities that influenced their decision to hand in their notices sooner or later.
One in five survey respondents’ decision to look for another job was mainly motivated by their desire for remote work and their dislike of their current organization’s RTO (return-to-office) policy.
Although there are concerns that AI (artificial intelligence) and the election results will negatively impact new job prospects, approximately 80% of those on the hunt for a new role say that they are strongly positive and confident that they will land their dream job.
If you, too, are planning to leave your current job early next year or are in the process of actively looking for a job due to seeking a fully remote job, there are several companies currently hiring for work-from-home jobs, with a variety of fully remote and remote-hybrid jobs available (at the time of writing unless specified otherwise), that you should have on your radar:
