Buying items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons can be a lot of fun for decorating the island or player’s home, giving gifts to villagers, and just trying to collect everything there is. The Nook Shopping in-game app includes some items that are always available, but also has a seasonal tab with a rotating selection of items that cannot be purchased anywhere else. Available During Winter Solstice – December 15 To 22 (Northern Hemisphere)

Items in both the Winter and Summer Solstice periods are good for just generic things that can be worked into a variety of decor. Available during the Winter Solstice, this Bathtub with Yuzu gives off cozy feelings and must make any space smell nice too. While it does make one wish there was a capybara in ACNH, it is still a lovely addition to any space inside or out. It is ordered from Nook Shopping for a cost of 3,200 Bells, and will give 0.5 development points towards the island’s rating if placed outside.

Summer and Winter Solstice periods vary for players depending on whether their islands are located in the Northern or Southern Hemispheres. In the Northern Hemisphere, the Winter Solstice seasonal items are available from December 15 to 22 every year, whereas in the Southern Hemisphere it takes place June 15 to 21.

The makeshift hot tub with fruit also provides a peaceful sound of trickling water, and can add some life and movement to any corner of the island, or even decorating around the outside of a villager’s home.

Tomato Festival Tee Shirt Is A Unique And Fun Shirt

Available During Tomato Festival – August 20 To 31

One of the more unusual seasonal events to be recognized by Animal Crossing is Spain’s Tomato Festival. In Nook Shopping, this event features an adorable Tomato Festival Tee at a cost of 1,000 Bells from August 20 to 31 every year. The colorful shirt has a unique gradient coloration and is perfect for people who enjoy wearing graphic tees.

For anyone with the little red duck Ketchup on their island, it may be a good idea to get an extra shirt to gift to her. After all, she does look like a walking tomato, and so a tomato shirt is a natural fit for her. She won’t be any more excited for it than any other clothing item, but it is still a great look.

Zodiac Animal Figurines Are Only Available For The Year Of That Animal

Available During New Year’s – December 22 To January 5

Collecting all thirteen of the zodiac animal figurines is not an easy task, but the adorable and colorful little statues have such a cool look to them that it makes it worth trying for them. Each year for the New Year’s Day seasonal event from December 22 to January 5 the Nook Shopping seasonal tab will feature one of these figurines that matches the zodiac symbol for that year. Therefore, in order to unlock all thirteen of them, players either need to play the game for thirteen years or do some creative time traveling.

For the current 2024/2025 season, the statue offered is the Zodiac Snake Figurine, and costs 1,600 Bells.

Midwinter Sweater Makes A Cozy Holiday Look

Available During Winter Solstice – December 15 To 22 (Northern Hemisphere)

Patterned sweaters are a popular cozy look during the holiday seasons, and this Midwinter sweater in Nook Shopping is an adorable llama-like design which can be worn all winter long, or all year if someone is willing to let their character get a little warm. It can also be gifted to villagers for them to wear as well, but can only be ordered from the catalog while the seasonal event is occurring, even if players have previously purchased it.

The Midwinter sweater was previously titled the Winter-solstice sweater prior to version 1.6.0 of the game.

Available during the Winter Solstice event for the island (December 15 to 22 in the Northern Hemisphere), the sweater is labeled with the themes of Everyday and Comfy and has a beige and brown look to keep it a bit more generic than if it were the vibrant green and red of Christmas. It costs 1,200 Bells to purchase and if sold again it will sell for 300 Bells.

Rodeo-Style Springy Ride-On Is Such A Fun Playground Addition

Available During The Cowboy Festival – July 15 To August 15

The Rodeo-style springy ride-on sadly cannot be ridden, but players and villagers can interact with it in a small way with it rocking back and forth when touched. As an outdoor furniture item, it gives 0.5 island rating points when placed outside and is an especially perfect fit for anyone who has been building a playground area on their island. This fun rocking horse is available during the Cowboy Festival seasonal period from July 15 to August 15 for 2,000 Bells.

As markwars on X (formerly known as Twitter) shows in their above post, there are several colorations of the Springy Ride-on available in ACNH, but the special Rodeo-style one is only available during the Cowboy festival.

Sunflower Crown Is Said To Bring Good Luck

Available During Summer Solstice – June 15 To 21 (Northern Hemisphere)

Previously known as the Summer-Solstice Crown before it was changed in version 1.6.0, the Sunflower Crown is a cheerful piece of clothing that player characters and villagers can wear. The headwear looks like a crown of sunflowers woven together to make a hat, and adds a little bit of cheer to even the gloomiest of days. It is purchased during the Summer Solstice season for whichever Hemisphere the player’s island is located in, and costs 1,560 Bells.

For the Northern Hemisphere, the Sunflower Crown is available from June 15 to 21, while in the Southern Hemisphere it is in Nook Shopping from December 15 to 22.

Cucumber Horse And Eggplant Cow Are Adorable And Offer A Cultural Lesson

Available During Obon – August 10 To 16

Both the cucumber horse and the eggplant cow feel like such random additions to the game that they quickly became popular with many players when they first showed up in the 1.11.0 update to ACNH. The adorable little furniture items can be placed on surfaces or on the ground and actually have a lot of meaning behind them as they signify the visitation of ancestor’s spirits to the living world.

In-game event description: “Celebrated mainly in Japan, it is said that ancestral spirits will visit the living beginning on August 13th, arriving on creatures made from cucumber and eggplant before departing once more on the 16th.“

The cumber horse and eggplant cow are available one at a time and will rotate in Nook Shopping throughout the Obon Festival seasonal period from August 10 to 16. Each are available with a cost of 500 Bells and are quite small in size.

Pi Pie Is A Silly Food Item That Costs 314 Bells

Available During Pi Day – March 1 To 14

The mathematical constant pi begins with the digits 3.14, which has made March 14 an unofficial pie holiday for much of the world. Celebrating this thematic event, players can order the π pie from Nook Shopping at cost of 314 Bells between March 1 and 14 each year. As a pie, the dish is edible, giving the player five energy points that can be used for breaking rocks or digging up trees. Or, players can simply use it as a decorative piece to celebrate the occasion, and it can be placed on a piece of furniture or anything that has surface for items, or simply on the ground.

Resetti Model Adds A Little Nostalgia, And Lights Up Too

Available During Groundhog Day – January 25 To February 2

Longtime Animal Crossing players may remember the lovably grouchy Mr. Resetti from all the previous games in the series as the NPC who would angrily scold players for resetting their games by turning off the power without saving first. Although his job is made obsolete now that New Horizons comes with an autosave feature, he is still seen occasionally at Brewster’s coffee shop and is the operator running the Rescue Service.

When lights are turned off in a room where this wallpaper is used, the walls shift and glow as though the space is surrounded by a beautiful aurora borealis, also known as northern lights.

Items rotate in and out fairly quickly, so catching things at just the right time can be crucial to collecting them all in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
