PALM BEACH GARDENS — An altercation at a public golf course in the western reaches of Palm Beach Gardens on Monday left one man dead and another in custody, police said.
Officers did not immediately identify the man who died. They said they are investigating the case as a homicide.
The two men confronted one another shortly before 1:30 p.m. at the Sandhill Crane Golf Club at 11401 Northlake Blvd., between the Avenir community and Florida’s Turnpike.
As officers arrived, one man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a police statement. Investigators then took the other man into custody.
Police did not specify how the victim was killed. The cause of death is being investigated, Palm Beach Gardens Police Maj. Javier Garcia said. It was not immediately clear what led to the altercation.
