GOSHEN, Ind. (WNDU) – A large gathering last night in a shopping plaza parking lot in Goshen was marred after police say shots were fired.
Officers say they were on a traffic stop in the 200 block of Chicago Avenue around 8 p.m. when shots were fired on the north side of the parking lot at Trinity Square.
They say they ran to where the shots were heard, and witnesses pointed out a man in the crowd who reportedly had a gun in his possession.
The man is identified as 24-year-old Juan Manuel Luevano Jr. He was arrested and booked into the Elkhart County Jail.
Witnesses also reported another suspect that was wearing all black and a face mask that left the area before officers arrived, but he was not identified.
Police have not reported any injuries in the incident.
